San Francisco

Finally, we uploaded our photo's from the California trip.  So prepare yourselves for a whirlwind of California photos (even though they're just lame point-and-shoot photos from our sony).

Drum roll please:

We stayed at Hotel Diva in Union Square.  This was the window shade.  It was....interesting.  However, it put us in a very key location for being sans car.  We were able to step outside and be immersed in all the craziness.  We always stumbled into some pretty good spots for breakfast (Jewish diner, David's Delicatessen on Geary St, so gooooood) and were steps away from all the areas we needed to be.  And for the record, we stayed at this hotel through one of those last minute book it websites for a pretty darn good deal.  Patting myself on the back for that one.

We climbed the Coit Tower and took in the panoramic views of the city and the bay...

Took some funny photos down at the Wharf....
Ate at Scoma's (he finished his entire crab and then the waiter patted him on the back)
Went to the Japanese Tea Gardens...
And finished our picture-taking adventures in Sausalito before a scrumptious Italian dinner and drinks at "Bar".

Next up: Point Reyes!

San Francisco

We're finally going to S.F. for more than a night, wooohooo!  4 days actually!  Therefore, we need a good hotel recommendation.

So please, bring on the recommendations!

Hope you're having fun, Badge-Mo :-)

2010: The year of travel and love

This year has been declared the year of travel, the year of love, the year of happiness and new beginnings.

First up: California

San Francisco, Napa, Lake Tahoe all in one long weekend!

It will be fun, productive, romantic, adventurous and lovely all in one!

Next up (March): Austin, TX

Badger & the boys are playing SXSW again this year and I am going with them.  I went with them in 2007 and had a really great time.  So I'm pretty excited for this years adventure too!

Honeymoon: Italy

Since my mom bought us an Italy travel guide, I guess it's been finalized.  We're going to Italy!  I don't know when (obviously after August), I don't know if we can afford it (where there's a will there's a way) and I don't know how long we'll go (hopefully a long time).

Rumor has it, we may be traveling to Vegas for Badge's stepbrother's 21st birthday in November.  We'll see if we are traveled out or broke or what!

It's going to be a wonderful year!

Aren't they lovely?  I ordered the winter one for myself, but seriously wanted to order them all and stamp everything I own.  I saw an awesome save the date card in Martha Stewart Weddings which led me to this San Francisco-based shop.  Everything is adorably awesome.

Mini-vacation!

Hello everyone!  We are back from Christmas vacation!  It was a good one minus the stomach flu my mom and I both caught which prevented us from going to the Christmas party at my stepbrother's house that I have been excited about for a month now.  D'oh!  All in all though, it was a great time and it was wonderful to see all of my family.  My parents went all out on everyone's Christmas gifts and we are now totally ready to travel with our new 4-piece high-quality luggage set!

We just booked a little mini-vacay to California in a couple of weeks.  We are SO EXCITED!  The vineyard that we are getting married at is having an open house so we'll get to meet with vendors and check the place out all dressed up for a wedding all in one day!  So convenient, and it even happens to take place over MLK weekend so it couldn't be more perfect.

Because the valley isn't as beautiful as it is in the summer at this time, we decided to treat ourselves to an exploration around the Northern California area.  Our trip will start in San Francisco where we'll stay in the heart of it all and have a little while to explore the area.  Next we'll drive up to Calistoga and attend the open house and THEN....wait for it...we're driving to LAKE TAHOE!!  We seriously are so stoked at this.  I've never been (although my mom will probably say I've been there when I was wee) and neither has he, so we're in for a real treat.  Have any of you ever been?  If so, what would you recommend?  I'm afraid of skiing because I'm a puss, but I know that boy really wants to do it.  I'm sort of into the idea of snowshoeing and we're both really into the idea of relaxing around a fire in a cozy lodge with some delicious ales in hand, hah!

Aaaaah...heaven awaits us.

How was everyone's Christmas?
