Fields of Color

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

I've had this image bookmarked for ages now because it is so captivating.  I love some good flower fields, but this one is truly at the head of the class.  I can't even imagine frolicking through the winding paths and being lucky enough to not only see this but smell it as well.  Surely there's something as breathtaking as this a little closer to home, right?

Color Crush :: Coral & Navy

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

Friends! I have been itching, and I mean itching, to create blog posts for you that don't involve photos of my baby (but please indulge me when I do).  Blog posts that involve what I used to post about.  You know, like clothes, accessories, blah, blah.  So here we go, my first color crush post in...forever!

I love the color combo of coral and navy.  I would love to squeeze into that Madewell striped skirt one night and go for a walk in the park in those adorable coral Keds.  What do you think, are you a fan of the combination?

Home Finds

I wish I could get my hands on some of these goods - specifically that pricey chevron blanket.  The colors in this palette are so soothing to me and I love so much how that red-orange really pops!

pocket books // shot glasses (sold out) // bangle //// shorts // skirt // tee

I couldn't resist the Twin Peaks pocket books.  How could I ever?  And I do believe I'll take the tee so I can sport it all summer long.  The shorts, too.  But most of all, I'll gladly take the art.  Please!

Thursday Loves

Is it just me or are these rooms absolutely beautiful?  The deep shade on the walls - gasp! I want.  Via

Summer has really got me in the mood for fruit, so when I stumbled across this amazing post on the rockstar diaries, I got really, really excited.  I would love to be able to enjoy this at a party, wouldn't you?

I'm a big fan of the color and print of these Doug & Gene Meyer scarves.  I'm not a scarf girl by any means but these make me want to be one.

Oh, Albatross.  Your darling creations amuse me very much.  I could stare at this little Gus look alike for ages.

I have the perfect guy in mind to send this to.  Because it's oh so true!  Such great work at Quill & Fox!

How are your week's going?  Last night I had a very lovely belated birthday celebration with family.  We dined at a local brewery, ate a reese's cake from Homemade Pie Kitchen and I received so many cool presents it's not even funny.  I'm in such a state of bliss from all the love!

Vesu-su-suvio

It's images like these that conjure up the finest of memories - strolling hand in hand through Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Rome.  Sipping wine on the terrace of our Roman apartment, immersed in the sounds of Italians gathering for dinner.  Drinking cappuccinos and eating croissants at breakfast every morning, eating caprese and panini's for lunch - always with house wine.  One simple image arouses so many memories of our perfect honeymoon.  It leaves me salivating for not only freshly baked bread and gelato, but colorful bits of fashion paired together to evoke a summer stroll through the streets of Italia.

Buon giorno!

Friday's Fancies + Have a Restful Weekend

Friday's Fancies

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

Happy Friday, friends! I wish I was a little happier today, but the mister's sickness has seemed to travel my way. I woke up today with a dry, sore throat and I plan to nurse it all day long with soothing liquids and lots of rest.

In a perfect world, we would both be happy, be going out for some sort of date tonight and I'd be wearing this.  Wouldn't it be wonderful?  That is why I love Friday's Fancies - always the perfect opportunity to dream up something wonderful.  This week, it's all about color crushing.  I'll be the first to admit, I have (and always will) been crushing pretty hard on the color combination of coral + turquoise.  This outfit has just the right amount of color combo without looking too matchy matchy.  I really have been coveting some white denim (as you may have noticed this week) and I really love the summery, breezy feel of this ensemble.

What are you getting up to this weekend?  Stevie is supposed to start obedience school tomorrow and we're celebrating mother's day on Sunday with my mother-in-law.  Other than that, I'm sure you'd be able to find us lounging on our couch, in our pj's, with hot toddies in hand.  Sigh.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  Hopefully it's better than ours :)

Dreaming in Color :: Mint Chocolate Chip

One of my favorite color combinations + one of my most favoritest dessert combinations = a beautiful ensemble of attire, if I do say so.  I'm pretty sure I need a pair of white skinny jeans just so I can pair them with a lovely mint top.  And oh how I long for those DVF sandals...swoon!

Color Pop

Holy mother of color - my eyes are in heaven!  When I spotted this print via Pinterest, I went weak in the knees.  I am such a fan of the color palette so I couldn't resist creating an outfit to wear.  If only I could take it all on my upcoming vacation.  If only...

Dreaming in Color :: Hot Pink

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

Lipstick, sandals, lamps, oh my! It seems as though I'm always drawn to the vibrant hue around this time of year.  Can you blame me? With hot pink being used on all things pretty, how can you not fall for head over heels?

Gray + Coral Crush

Shirt // Polish // Runner // Bag // Pouch // Sandals // Shorts // Bike

Loving the mix of coral + gray as of late.  There is so much good stuff out there in both of these hues and I just can't get enough.

Fire! Water! Earth!  All of these colors make for a fun outfit, don't you think? A fun outfit I'd wear all the time.

A fierce image deserves a decently fierce outfit.  Thank God for that ring.  Or else this wouldn't be fierce at all, right?  I mean really, how great is that ring?  I want it.  I want it all.

Mixed Berries

I want to take this color board and dunk it in a glass of champagne.  Anybody else feel me on that one? Also, is anyone else suddenly so ready for spring?

Felt + Linen

Felt + Linen

Colour Patch 1 by Rachel Castle is such a lovely collage of bold color.  It translates so well into fashion and every day items, so I couldn't resist but pick out a few of my faves.

White Washed

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I dream of having a space like this - white washed and dreamy, neatly organized and simple.  I'm beginning to doubt it's even possible for me to have something like this but thanks to the interwebs, I can pretend.  But seriously, I want all these rooms.  Bad.

Thursday's Randoms

I've been smiling ever since I spotted this vintage poster.  I imagine it must have been pretty cool to have this hanging in your room as a young teenage girl back in the day.  Part of it is also kind of gross, too.  Hah!  Whose lips would you be smooching?  My vote is for George.  Via

The color combination that is gray and aqua is by far one of my favorite color combinations ever.  Comine that with paneled walls and pops of color here and there and I think we've achieved perfection.  Now I just need to find a way to incorporate this into our home!

I've been pouring through Old Loves today and couldn't stop laughing when I came across Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh on their wedding day in 1989.  Look at that dress! Oh.  My.

This beautiful grecian gown from designer Katie Jean is quite lovely, and I'm rather fond of her styling in the rest of her shop.  If you're a bride-to-be and want to support an up-and-coming designer, be sure to head to her shop and check out her designs.  It could be a perfect match!

Are you as intrigued by this as I? I found this recipe from 101 Cookbooks for lemony olive oil banana bread.  I love a twist on any classic recipe - and I just so happen to have an overstock of frozen brown bananas perfect for bread.  We also just so happen to be hosting the in-laws for dinner tonight so this may end up on the menu.

What's inspiring you today? And what are you up to? It's been a CRAZY week around here.  The husband was out of town, Stevie hit her "ohmygodI'macrazypuppyandIcan'tstopbitingyouandcryingandbarkingandI'mgoingtodriveyouallstarkravingmad" phase and there were 4 reported tornadoes in the Louisville area on Tuesday.  Then it snowed a bit that night.  Crazy, right?  One of the tornadoes just so happened to be a few miles away from our house/the doctor's office.  We were all huddled in a windowless room at work, with patients and people who work upstairs.  The sirens were blaring, a funnel cloud was looming over the city and there was a calm before the storm.  Holy shishkaballs.

Friday's Fancies + Have a Cheery Weekend!

Friday's Fancies

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

This week's Friday's Fancies is all about color crushing. Lately I've been smitten by Chanel's Orange Fizz nail polish - I can't get enough! So when I saw this blouse, I fell pretty hard. Isn't this outfit chic and tough all at once? I wish I could wear it out this weekend.

What's in store for you this weekend? We don't have any plans so far (I'm not complaining) and with the roads being sort of slick out there, I'm not too inclined to drive anywhere just yet.  We'll see where it takes us.

Whatever you get up to this weekend, I hope you make the most of it!  Enjoy the snow, Chicagoans.  It's about time you had a good amount on the ground, I say.

I'm dreaming about soft winter pastels for my wardrobe lately.  To me, these colors are quintessential January.  Even though it doesn't quite feel like January outside, I'm aching for the weather to satisfy my mood.  Also, the walls of my home are aching for this print, seriously.

What is in your January wardrobe these days?

Creamy whites and raspberry! Navy blue tights and boots! It must mean that the holidays are upon us, what with my brain focusing on these colors.  They have me thinking party - I would love to attend a holiday party sporting this number, would you?

Just because it's Tuesday, let's all listen to one of my fave Arcade Fire jams.
