Thursday Loves

I think starting any blog post with a supremely handsome photo of Paul Rudd (my #1 celebrity crush, go KU!) and Adam Scott.  You're welcome :)  Via

Considering it's January and 22 degrees outside, I figured we could all use a little brightness in our lives.  Wouldn't this striped frock be a fantastic vacation dress?  Bonus, it's only $32! Via SheInside

I have to admit, I'm all about all things food these days.  This banana cream pie looks absolutely divine and I'm pretty sure I need to make it.  Yes, yes I do.  Via

How sweet is this photo? And that wallpaper? And that mushroom? Ah, my heart, it melts! Via

How gorgeous is this field?! Located in Ibaraki, Japan - someone should recreate this a little closer to home so I can go and most definitely get lost in its glory.  Via

Thursday Loves

I have a complaint to voice and it might not merit any sympathy.  It's been really warm here, like, 74 degrees.  In December.  And it has only felt like winter one day.  I'm not happy with it, even though most people probably are.  I just want it to feel like Christmas is coming, in terms of weather.  Would it kill mother nature to just do me a solid with this one?!  The wildlife in our neighborhood is acting confused - it sounds like early spring every morning.  Dang it, global warming!  Photo via

If handmade holidays are your thing, consider checking out Carnivale Clay on Etsy.  The artist and I share a mutual fondness for a certain friend, not to mention she makes gorgeous stoneware for the home and garden.

Oh Free People.  You've done it again.  You've wooed me with your holiday sparkle.  Too bad my every expanding belly couldn't even begin to fit into this without busting the thread that holds every last sequin on to this beautiful dress.

I'm not sure if this house could be any cooler.  Via

Can I have this strawberry, basil and goat cheese panini for lunch, please? Oh my!  Via Cookie + Kate

Hope your weeks have been swell!

Thursday Leaves Me Feeling Random

I imagine whoever's office this is, gets a lot done on any given day.  I'm getting inspired just looking at it.

We have 5 VERY special guests coming to stay with us this weekend.  3 of those 5 guests include my favorite children! I can't wait to have them here in our house.  I think we'll even be making delicious pancakes.  So exciting!

The mister and I have been talking all things gardening this past week.  Wouldn't it be cool to create a teepee out of bean stalks?  It's probably not going to turn out that way for us, but I like the option.

Dress

Even though this dress appears to be sold out, it doesn't mean I can't lust over it all the day long.  It's so pretty and perfect for life lately.  Speaking of life, lately...spring is in full effect around these parts.  My tulips have almost bloomed (hooray, successful planting! *pats self on back*), our magnolia tree has beautiful fuchsia blooms opening up, daffodils are everywhere on our road, a pear tree came to life overnight and since our windows are open, all we can hear are the birds chirping like crazy.  I love it.

Speaking of spring, wouldn't this salad make for the perfect spring meal?  Not only is it healthy and satisfies a lot of food groups, it just looks so fresh and vibrant.  I think I need to eat it, ASAP!

What's inspiring you this week?  And how are your weeks going?  Today is shaping up to be a nice day.  I'm not at work, March Madness begins and I've got a golden opportunity to get the house ready for our visitors!  Happy Thursday, everyone!

Thursday's Randoms

Today I want to go to there.  I want to look out over the ocean, hear the waves crashing and feel the serene calm that comes along with it.  Now who wants to take me there?

I'm smitten over these Harry Barker dog beds (on sale!).  Stevie is currently using Gus' bed, which Gus never used.  It's the perfect size right now but she is growing like a weed.  I'm thinking that turquoise beauty needs a spot in our home.

I'm pretty sure that any home office could stand to have this snail tape dispenser.  It cracks me up!  Via

I know that it's already February - but I still don't have a nice calendar for 2012.  In fact, we've been using a free calendar in our junk mail from a real estate agent in the area.  Wouldn't this nature calendar from Etsy store Miles of Light be perfect?

Guys, can you tell I"m a sucker for Madewell? I feel like all my dream clothes come from there - yet I have only ever bought shoes from them!  If only I could go on a Madewell shopping spree.  I would buy this dress, for sure.

Last, I just thought you all should know that I'm totally in the mood to snarf a lot of these down.  That is all.  Via

How are all of you today? I'm feeling a little bit under the weather.  I'm at home with Stevie, who is trying her hardest to chew every last bit of a wicker basket in our living room.  An over excited puppy + sick Mo = bad combination.  Wish me luck...

Apple + Smoked Mozzarella Calzones? YES, PLEASE! These sound like the most delicious things ever. You probably don't even need desssert after snarfing down a meal like this.  That might be a lie though, you always need dessert.  Via here via Sprouted Kitchen

Today might be the perfect day to actually sit down and start learning how to embroider.  I have all the supplies but have not had the patience.  It's a cold, rainy day and I am not at work - so why not?  Via My Different Strokes

I love Pinterest for so many different reasons.  Seeing genius wrapping ideas such as this is just one of the many things that Pinterest does to spark my creativity.  Via here via Design Sponge

I am lusting over this dress hardcore, people.  With all its shine and beauty, what's not to love?  The color may not be that flattering on me, but that's ok. They have it in navy, too.  Oh Free People, I love you.

Can you imagine spotting a bearded fellow wearing this and not swooning?  That's just me?  Okay, whatevs.  But I would love to see my man walking around in this Mt. Rainier Design Inyo Jacket.  Too bad it'll never happen - the price tag is $685! And I thought North Face was pricey!

This is all my heart yearns to do - but alas, it is cold and rainy.  No autumn picnic in the works for me.  But perhaps this weekend I could make it happen.  I mean, afterall...a very sweet lady recently gifted me with a vintage picnic basket and a perfect plaid blanket.  It needs to happen!  Via

What's inspiring you today? And how have your weeks been?   I've got a free day today, so ready or not...here I come!

Don't you hate it when

You find exactly what your heart was set on after it's too late?  All spring and summer long I looked through and scoured stores for the perfect lavendar summer dress.  I got over it, realizing I was defeated.  Until now....

So it does exist!  But at a price.  This adorable Steven Alan dress is far out of my comfort zone so I'll just drool over it instead.

Something about this maxi dress really appeals to me.  I've never worn a maxi dress before (wasn't ever sure how one would look on me considering I'm 5'2" - on a good day).  But after wedding dress shopping I've realized that I do look good in long dresses!  I don't know what it is, perhaps it's the belt that really makes the dress.  Mayhaps it's the tank top, perhaps it's the overall airiness that works for me.  I dont know but I like it.

Speaking of wedding dresses, mine is still slightly too big but I felt beautiful in it nonetheless.  I can't wait for it to be finished and completely Mo-sized!

Lusting for designer fashion?

Have you heard of Rent the Runway?  If not, let me know and I'll gladly send you an invite (which nets me $20 credit after your first order, pretty awesome).  Anywho, RTR is pretty awesome.  If you're a big dreamer for high fashion but your pocketbook doesn't support your dreams, then this site is pretty perfect for you.  You can rent, for 4 days, the designer dress of your choice.  They have tons of beautiful dresses and accessories, all starting at $50 for dresses and $10 for the accessories.  I've been scouring the website and lusting over the dresses and thinking to myself, this is perfect for some wedding-related events.  Naturally, I want to buy some dresses for the occassion, but the thought of wearing a designer gown to my rehearsal dinner really excites me.  Like this dress by Theory:

I can rent this for 4 days for $75 or buy it for $450 and wear it once or twice (or maybe just around the house most nights like I plan on doing w/my wedding dress once my groom has seen it).

I could buy this beautiful antique cascading crystal necklace by Ciner for $350 or rent it for $50

Or this silver bib bling by Janis Savitt which retails for $1,140 for a rental fee of $150.

So are you sold yet?  I have yet to order anything but I certainly plan on doing so!  You can even shop by occassion.  How wonderful is that?!

Floral Dresses

I am so into this trend.  It reminds me of the 90's but in a good way.  Paired with some cute heels or sandals or even boots, this look is so feminine and cute and I plan to purchase some of these less expensive ones for my upcoming trip to Austin!

Boy bought me a bottle of perfume from Nordstrom for Christmas, but my mom bought me the same bottle and wrapped it up all nice and pretty.  So we took his back and now I have a lot of store credit.  I think this dress is a great way of spending it, don't you think?  I love that it's kind of 50s meets 90s meets today.  I especially love that it's been paired with these awesome boots.  Love.

This BB Dakota dress has some pretty rad colors and the floral print is so vibrant and fresh.

Again, this Almost Famous one screams 50s meets 90s meets today, and I love how soft and delicate it is.

These two Forever 21 dresses are cute, affordable and right on trend.

I've got mad spring fever!

I want! continued....

It's so simple and it looks incredibly comfortable.  Anyone care to buy it for me?! Or how 'bout this one!?
