We laughed - and then some!

How can cake decoration possibly go wrong? Here's Cake Wrecks, an entire blog dedicated to just that.

We just perused the New Discoveries in the Animal Kingdom page.

There's also pages and pages of turkey cakes from the holiday season.

I won't spoil the fun...

Indie Wed

At the Renegade Craft fair, I picked up a flyer for an upcoming wedding show called Indie-Wed.

I'm really looking forward to this.  Seems like it's right up my alley and hopefully I can manage to blow some more money there, like I did last night (so worth it).

Anyone want to come with?  Are you free that day?!

A literal rain shower

Can you imagine taking a rain shower?

I can imagine it is pretty nice.  I wouldn't say no to having that in my bathroom.  No way!

Or on my patio:

So if your pockets are loaded and you're looking for something just wonderful to get me for Christmas, this is it!  Of course you'll have to buy me the home that needs to go along with it...preferably somewhere beautiful.  Thanks!

Winter Wonderland

I woke up this morning quite surprised.  I didn't expect to look out the window and see this:

Ok, maybe it wasn't quite like that (I wish).  But it was surprising and made me a bit happy.

We set up our Christmas tree on Saturday.  I never knew my fiance was the kind of guy to get the biggest, bushiest tree there is.  It's well over 7-feet tall and it eats up our entire living room.  When we were deciding on the tree, I said, well Clark Griswald, I guess if you want it let's get it.

After the craft show last night, Inna gave me two boxes full of lights, ornaments and various other decorations.  So now that there's snow on the ground and a beautiful tree, I think I shall rush home after work, drink a warm alcoholic beverage, turn a Christmas movie on, start decorating more and get completely engrossed in the Christmas spirit.  Have any of you lovelies turned into Christmas geeks yet this season?

Handmade Holiday

Later this afternoon, Inna and I are planning on heading over to Pulaski Park Fieldhouse to peruse the finest of handmade indie-craft goodies.  I'm really excited about this.

I'm hoping to find some lovely gifts for friends and family while drinking some bubbly with my fantastic friend.

Christmas Wish(ful Thinking)

So, in the spirit of awesome Christmas gifts we want to give to ourselves as well as our nearest and dearest, the following exhibits are presented for your droolage:

Gorgeous cocktail glasses from Yarai, a Japanese designer:

Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town, a book celebrating food, photography and Tuscan culture (it was just previewed on NPR):

For wee people, I liked these hats, which remind me rather of these, but are of course much nicer!

And in a few minutes I get my husband back from a really long surgery call at the hospital, and we're going Christmas shopping together - yeah! :-)

It's obvious I'm hungry, isn't it

I WANT TO EAT THIS.  MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  I stumbled upon this delicious looking rainbow cake and now I am dreaming about it.

Just look at its beauty!

You can find the recipe here.  Enjoy!

And the gift ideas begin...

It's December, which means it's officially time to start Christmas shopping.  Since we're flying to Kansas for the celebration, I plan on doing all of my shopping online.  What about you?  I'm sure I'll still get out and try to hunt down some goodies, but I just don't have the desire or the space this year to shop til I drop.  Although, Badge could beg to differ.

Anywho, on to the first amazing find:

These are some amazing terrariums that I would love to have.  Aren't they cute?!

I found them at the A+R store, which is chock full of amazing finds.

Yes, I'll take them all.  Even the hand.  If only I was filthy rich!

Oh no!

I just read some more bad news about the world of magazines.  As a journalism major with a concentration in magazines, I'm disheartened by all the news of publications shutting down.  And now, my favorite wedding magazine  has come to an end.

I love InStyle Weddings.  I've only browsed through a few since I've been engaged but each one of them has been beyond helpful with my planning and ideas.

Our time together was short, but sweet.
