Have a royal weekend!

Friday!  It's finally Friday and the sun is shining!  For the first time in what feels like forever, there is hardly a cloud in the sky.  It might only be 60 degrees but it feels so good.

As I watched the ceremony, I couldn't help but laugh about this skit throughout.  I mean, every time I saw the Queen I chuckled a bit, thinking of Fred Armisen!

What's the weekend plan?  I'm hoping to be a tourist in my own city tomorrow and visiting one of the many places I've yet to check off my to-visit list, but we'll see what the day brings.  Whatever you get up to, hope you have an excellent weekend!

Weekend Recap

While we may not have actually done much over the weekend, it was still enjoyable.  That is, if you look past the sneeze machine that was my husband and the absurd amounts of Kleenex we both used up.  Goodness.  Gotta love those almost spring colds, right?!  Right.  Anyway...some highlights of the weekend include ::

  • A KU victory + drinks + pub food at Lotties with other KU fans!
  • A Saturday in pajamas, spent drinking water and herbal tea like it's going out of style
  • A KU Big 12 Championship!  Sorry guys, it is March...this is only going to get worse
  • Zach Galifianakis in his Annie costume on Saturday Night Live.  Whoa.  Yes!
  • A clean apartment!
  • Last but not least, RAEGAN IS HERE!  Hooray!!
How were your weekends? Wonderful, I hope.  Happy Monday dear friends, I hope you enjoy every last bit of extra daylight we've all got!

Sweet Blog Award

Recently, Beth over at Deer Little Fawn, awarded me with the Sweet Blog Award.  Thank you, Beth!  When you win this award, you're supposed to share 4 guilty pleasures with everyone and also pass the award along.  So here goes...

  • I'm a candy fiend.  I always have been and probably always will be.

  • Trips to Target.  Some people love it, some people loathe it.  My husband being the latter, although I think he might secretly enjoy it.  I say that because when we go together, we usually take a stroll through the men's section and he usually picks up at least a t-shirt or two.  We/I always walk out of there having spent way too much money though.

  • Shopping for candles.  Because there's nothing better than lighting up a fresh candle with a unique scent.  My favorites always come from Anthropologie and I especially love the ones with woodsy scents.
  • Watching SNL.  Even when people said it totally sucked, I still watched it.  I love staying in on Saturday nights and watching it, but we also dvr it to watch at our leisure.  I've been listening to The Sound of Young America and Bill Hader was on the last podcast...God, I love Stefan.

So there you have it...some guilty pleasures that aren't all that embarrassing, right?  Right.

So now it's time to pass the award along, and it's really hard to do.  But since I have to narrow it down, here they are ::

Thanks again, Beth!

Betty White on SNL

Did any of you happen to catch Betty White on SNL?  I'm sure you did...wasn't it the funniest episode you've seen in ages?!  She was hilarious - I laughed so hard my stomach hurt!  It was an epic episode and if you haven't seen it yet, queue it up here.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Last night, we watched a recorded episode of Jeopardy!  Say what you will, laugh and sneer, but we love that show and look forward to watching it every night.  So the particular episode we watched last night was Celebrity Jeopardy!, featuring Anderson Cooper, Aisha Tyler and Cheech Marin.  I kid you not, it started out just like the classic Saturday Night Live Celebrity Jeopardy! skits.  You know the kind, where "Sean Connery" and "Alex Trebek" bicker and Connery throws out "that's not what your mom said last night, Trebek" burns?  Or how "Burt Reynolds" would change his name to Turd Ferguson or come out wearing an oversized hat that he "found backstage".

Anyway, this episode really started out that way.  Nobody was following directions, Aisha buzzed in and said the correct answer AFTER she already buzzed in once with the incorrect answer.  It was funny, to say the least.  But what really, really baffled me was this.  Cheech Marin beat Anderson Cooper with flying colors.  At his own categories too.  Categories that Mr. Cooper should have owned.  I loved it.  Seriously.

I just wanted to share because I find it so awesome.  Congrats, Cheech!  Way to show the world that guys like Cheech & Chong are smart!

Funny

No seriously, it is.  Just watch and let me know if you agree (or not).

I actually am really enjoying this season of SNL (obviously).
