Thursday Loves

Is it just me or are these rooms absolutely beautiful?  The deep shade on the walls - gasp! I want.  Via

Summer has really got me in the mood for fruit, so when I stumbled across this amazing post on the rockstar diaries, I got really, really excited.  I would love to be able to enjoy this at a party, wouldn't you?

I'm a big fan of the color and print of these Doug & Gene Meyer scarves.  I'm not a scarf girl by any means but these make me want to be one.

Oh, Albatross.  Your darling creations amuse me very much.  I could stare at this little Gus look alike for ages.

I have the perfect guy in mind to send this to.  Because it's oh so true!  Such great work at Quill & Fox!

How are your week's going?  Last night I had a very lovely belated birthday celebration with family.  We dined at a local brewery, ate a reese's cake from Homemade Pie Kitchen and I received so many cool presents it's not even funny.  I'm in such a state of bliss from all the love!

Etsy Love :: Giardino

It's no surprise that I am quite fond of adorable illustration, feathers, rustic tea towels and anything that reminds me of Italy.  So imagine my enjoyment when I stumbled across the lovely Etsy shop, Giardino!  There's a little bit for everyone in this shop, from block prints to chevron pillows to food and drink cards and art.  I can see a few of these items looking real good in this old house...

This bedroom has left me completely inspired.  There's something about the colors in here, the softness of it and that little pop of red.  It just leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy and I want to model our bedroom around it completely.  Luckily so does the hubs, so I think this may happen!

I've been laughing pretty hard over this one.  People are so creative - and I love a good pun, especially when paired with amazing illustration.   Via Paper Parasol

These Rachel Comey shoes (spotted during fashion week) have completely stolen my heart.   I want them.  Bad. Via Refinery 29

Today's weather has me all kinds of excited about this photo.  We don't have our fireplace ready to go but clearly we need to get on top of that.  I mean, it's 48 degrees outside and 65 in here! Is it too soon to have a fire inside?!  Thanks to Martha, I want to.

I am also really wishing I could eat a slice of this strawberry dream cake right about now.  It sounds so refreshing and delicious and it looks very pretty.

Last, these simple yet bold earrings from Kim Dulaney would make a perfect addition to my jewelry collection, don't you think?  I mean, they would go with practically everything in my wardrobe!

What has your heart today? And thank you so much for sticking with me this week.  Clearly, I've got today off.  It's tough not being at a computer to pay attention to this blog throughout the day, and once I adjust to my new schedule you'll be hearing mofe from me.  All I can say though is "what a week!" and by that it really means, "what a week of change!".

Be sure to enter the giveaway!  You have until Sunday night at 10 pm eastern to enter.  Good luck!

I'm salivating just looking at these beautiful bananas foster cupcakes from Tasty Kitchen.  I think I need to make them, ASAP.  Mainly because we've had this bottle of rum for ages now and we haven't figured out what to do with it in order for it to be good.

Not only is this photograph beautiful, but I can safely say I want every single one of these rugs in my house.  Now.  And kitteh, please withhold the hairballs.

"Sometimes it's so quiet that it seems like the trees just might be listening to every word that's spoken."

Photographer Sherri Conley has left me in awe with this one.

Are you getting a load of how cuuute these are?  Anna Bond, you never disappoint!

How awesome is it that one of fall's biggest trends this year is bright colors!  I'm not sure about sporting the look myself, but I would love to see those who will so they can brighten my day...heh heh. Via Refinery 29

The other day, I received the sweetest surprise in the mail - my very own "Meagan Badger" stamp from Primele!  I had won a give away from Sami's blog A Glimpse of Glamour way back to receive this stamp, but things kind of got lost in the shuffle.  But much to my surprise, it arrived in the mail wrapped up in the most beautiful tissue paper with the most beautiful little thank you card - I was/am smitten.  Thanks again, Sami & Primele!  Be sure to check out their website as they have many amazing things up.

In the monthly Dolan Geiman newsletter that I received today, I fell in love immediately these amazing wooden pennants! I love these two in particular because well...I'm a Chicagoan right now who is soon moving to Kentucky, duh :)  But the other pennants he has created are pretty rad as well - class of 2011, Happily Hitched, It's a Boy - so many awesome things and he's adding more soon!  I love the reason behind them, too ::

"I have always loved vintage felt pennants, the ones that tell of travels to Mexico or to the local carnival or proclaim a love for the old ballgame, but I have often longed for new versions of these old standards. I started this collection to pay homage to what I consider the greatest souvenir and to give it a new life in a new medium. These thin oak pennants are tactile and gift ready, with three holes for easy hanging, and I will be introducing new themes, cities, and special occasions as the months progress."

Last, my friend Jenni introduced me to this amazing website this morning - Carrot + Coriander.  I am completely intrigued!  The artist behind it all is a former Chicago Public Schools art teacher who moved to Sedona to create awesome stuff.  Pretty cool, right? I cant' get enough of the incredible clutches, made from found and hand-dyed fabric.  You can see Arizona's influence throughout her work - be sure to check out the rest!  Thanks again, Jen!

The Soap & Paper Factory

For some, I'm sure that this wonderful collection of handmade, natural soy candles, solid perfumes, stationary, etc. by The Soap & Paper Factory is old hat.  But for me, it's brand new and I am in love!

First off, how cute are these three lovely ladies?  Beth, Shannon & Lisa here are the lovely creators of S&P, and my new role models!  Everything they make and sell is natural and handmade in their Tappan, New York factory.  Their packaging is earth-friendly, not to mention beautiful.  They use recycled materials to hold the products so you can reuse them for other things when you use them all up!

I've never personally used solid perfume, but these lovely woodsy, floral, citrusy, tropical scents have convinced me to start!  And they're only $18!

You can get Green Tea or Cinnamon Clove wrapping paper, made from recycled paper and recycled chip board, for $12 a roll.

And how awesome are these vintage-inspired soy candles?  With fragrances such as black tea, anise, basil and citrus, you really can't go wrong.  $32 for 75-hours of burn time.

Definitely inspiring and I really want to snag some of their goodies.  What's your favorite place to buy candles and soaps and things?  I personally buy all of my candles from Anthropologie but every now and then I'll stumble on something really good (and then only burn it on special occassions).

More wish list items...

... this time c/o Humunuku Shoppe on Etsy.

What's not to love about vintage postcards with chickens, goats and ostriches!

I'm really getting into mailing people back home and in different cities, just note cards to say quick hellos. Not least because I have an box full of cards that I collect, and then feel I should share with the world instead of keep to myself! Perhaps I'll treat myself...

Not sure what I could put in these, but again, you've got to appreciate a porker like this one here.
