We see so much deer around our neck of the woods and they really are as adorable as they are portrayed (except when they frantically run in front of your moving car or when they munch on your plants and flowers).  Don't you just kind of wish you could keep a deer as a pet and snuggle with it at night?  Or maybe the allure of seeing a deer in the flesh would be lost if you were always around it.  Either way, a deer could never replace the love in my heart for my Stevie and Gus!

Thursday Loves

I LOVE the looks of this color brass necklace by FORTUNE.  So simple but so pretty!

Speaking of baguettes, can someone please send me tons of these paper baggies? Seeing this totally make my week!

Last, I love the whole look and feel of this print by Monorail.  The colors, the type, the automatic feeling of being asea - I love this shop and I love our antler print we bought last year.

I finally decided to fix up the ole blog header problem I've had ever since Blog Milk created those rad new templates.  Nat from Modern Buttercup whipped this up for me in a jiffy and I am pleased as pie.  Thanks, Nat!

How does your garden grow? Now that spring is inching closer, we're talking more and more about our soon-to-be vegetable garden.  Husband has it all planned out, to my delight, but I keep finding so many awesome ways to grow everything.  Our biggest problem will be keeping deer out of our stuff, not to mention the cat, dog and other animals wandering through.  But it's almost time to start! Seeing as though we've pretty much been all things puppy lately, this post seemed more than appropriate.  I'm particularly smitten with the puppy lamp - the "Albie" puppy lamp by design duo JamesPlumb.   Wouldn't it be amazing to display anywhere?!

If only puppies were all cute and no work....sigh.  I'm serious I kid, puppies are the  bee's knees.

Recently, Christy of Lucius Jewelry traveled to one of Chicago's airports and showed off her fine jewelry.  Lucky for me (and all of you), my awesome stepmother-in-law (seriously, there should be easier terms for these kinds of relationships to people) happened to be traveling that day and happened to have me in mind when she spotted these lovelies.  I'm completely in love with the longhorn skull necklace and I'm pretty sure I would wear that ring all the time.  The earrings are such a nice touch of sparkle and considering I have birds tattooed on my body, I'm a fan of the bird necklace.  What do you think? Thursday's Randoms

I'm finding it hard to believe it's December 1st today.  But I'll get over my disbelief and will quickly get into full on holiday mode.  I'm thinking today, my day off, is the perfect day to make the husband go pick out a Christmas tree and outdoor lights.  Don't you agree?!

Thinking about copying this idea somewhere in the home.  I mean, what a big impact for such a little price.  They make it look so chic!

My goodness this looks good.  I mean, really, really good.  Hey, I got some new nikes the other day, I'm bundling up and hitting the trail so I think I could have a similar version of this today, right?

So, husband and I are in the process of finding the perfect doggie to add to our family.  We've been sold on German Shepherds for awhile now because of their intelligence and beauty, but we've had some mixed reactions when telling people that's what we want.  Then my coworker told me a story about her sister's dog being mauled to death by the neighbor's GS and well...now I'm not so sure what to do.  Last night we found Maddie here, who is described as one of the sweetest dogs around.  She's at a foster home in Lexington and you can read some more about her here.  I think she's beautiful and by the description, she sounds pretty perfect for us.  But we're hesitant.  What do you think? Any thoughts on German Shepherds?  I could just really use some advice!  Our other option is going to the humane society and checking out some adorable border collie pups they've got.  Eeps!  But that means housetraining, ick.  Minka Maddie (oops, I keep getting her confused with another GS named Minka) is already trained!

This dress needs to be in my closet as a winter staple.  I love the cut and the print both!

Thursday's Randoms :: Halloween Edition

Something about this image is so beautiful to me - I think it's just the pretty red barn in the background, honestly, but I do love the staggered tombstones immensely.  We have 2 tombstones in our front yard, along with a skeleton poking through the ground.  Did I get carried away? Maybe.  Am I ashamed? Not in the slightest.  Via

Thursday's Randoms

So much color! So much pretty, vibrant color! I could stare for days upon days.  Via

Mr. Gosling was in my dream last night.  We were friends and he was dating a girl I had been hanging out with.  I was all set to perform a song for a large crowd of people I knew from all the different stages of my life.  I had practiced, practiced, practiced.  I didn't have a dress to wear at the last minute, so I fashioned a maxi dress out of a yellow shower curtain I have.  Anyway, I went out on stage to perform the song but at the last minute "they" (I don't know if I ever knew who "they" were) changed the accompanying music to piano and the pianist played an entirely different song than what was planned.  I was humiliated in front of Ryan Gosling and everyone else I had ever met because I didn't know the song and I do believe I woke myself up with tears in my eyes!  No good!  Via

Isn't this so lovely? Los Angeles artist Myan captured this Los Olivos vineyard in the morning in just the right way.  I am captivated by the rich colors - I'm also naturally drawn to anything that has anything to do with vineyards.  Via

My friend Hadley introduced me to The Flourishing Foodie and I haven't been able to stop drooling ever since.  These carmelized apricots with goat cheese and pistachios sound like the perfect bite of heaven.  Not to mention, they're apparently classy - class x 10.  I love it!

Thursday's Randoms

This bedroom has left me completely inspired.  There's something about the colors in here, the softness of it and that little pop of red.  It just leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy and I want to model our bedroom around it completely.  Luckily so does the hubs, so I think this may happen!

Today's weather has me all kinds of excited about this photo.  We don't have our fireplace ready to go but clearly we need to get on top of that.  I mean, it's 48 degrees outside and 65 in here! Is it too soon to have a fire inside?!  Thanks to Martha, I want to.

I am also really wishing I could eat a slice of this strawberry dream cake right about now.  It sounds so refreshing and delicious and it looks very pretty.

I kind of can't get over this hanging aquarium from Opulent Items, an online retailer with unusual albeit awesome items for the home and office.  Can you tell I have a thing for goldfish?

This antique brass wheat necklace from Etsy shop Stavri has my Kansas heart.  Since I'm from the land of wheat and sunflowers, pretty much everything related makes my heart swell.

I absolutely love the look and feel of this photo - the lucky guests at this wedding had better know how amazing and lucky they were to sit around this beautifully decorated table and space!  The entire wedding was absolutely incredible.

I know this manicure has already made its way around the blog world, but I can't get enough of it! I love how colorful and playful it is, yet it still remains rather refined.  Has anyone tried anything like this before?

I could really stand to have this sweater for the fall.  It's geeky but beautiful and I want it.

Last, I am leaving you with this mouth-watering dessert, of which I have not a clue what it is or how to make it.  But my oh my, does it look good!
