Cottage Chic

Last night, I took this quiz to try and figure out my decor style.  Because we're in that everything-we-own-is-from-Ikea-or-hand-me-downs-from-my-parents phase, we're saving our money for not only a house, but also for some new grown-up furniture.  Luckily, I can stick to the theme of 'cottage chic' when we do buy new furniture since I think this quiz really did match up my style..  I can even give my mom a sigh of relief by finally having a place that is "themed".  Now I just need to learn to practice patience, because I want to get new and old furniture as soon as the snow starts to melt (at this point, that will never happen).

I'm curious - what's your style?

I'm "Vintage Modern," which I don't think is any surprise (and actually fits with my current loft situation). It's comforting to know that my ridiculous amalgam of random furniture actually has a "style," even if that style is "I like flea markets."

im in the same boat as you. we have a lotta ikea in our apt. we just bought a couch the other month which was v exciting (we went to roys in lincoln park--check it out they have amazing prices) and a coffee table from cb2. movin on up slowly but surely. i think our style can be described as vintage modern as well. i like clean lines with a retro feel. i am digging the cottage chic look tho! i hope you have a snow day today! xoxo jcd

I like almost all styles and could happily live in them. Perhaps not "traditional". I'm in a modern home now with my vintage things scattered here and there. Cottage chic is probably my other fav! I need lots of homes I think :)

I am still trying to figure out my style. Our house is looking pretty sad right now because it's completely undecorated. I'm off to take that quiz. :)

this room is gorgeous....i think the hardest part is getting all the stuff out of the way....having good storage which is convienent yet visually appealing like a really cool dresser in the living room but not a giant wall monstrosity which many people end up doing and filling it up with craps dvds and such....i have some pieces from ikea and an ikea kitchen which i absolute adore! i think its easy to overload ones self with ikea because there is so much cuteness there!

Mine is a coastal cottage chic! I love the white washed out walls, with the colors like green, blue, yellow..

I dont really know what my style is....maybe I need to take this quiz too. I love to mix old pieces with new ones though. Glad you are excited about your award. You deserve it and a piece of pie too

I think it is so exciting that you two are saving for a house. that is one thing I am so excited to do one day! I'm hoping there will be left over $$ in our wedding account to start our house fund!

and I have no idea what my style is. but I like things to last. so for expensive pieces I like them to be classic, neutral and decorate with throws, pictures, vases, etc.
