a tree becomes a book becomes a tree

$2,500 is a little steep for a bookshelf.  But this really is one hell of a bookshelf, right?

I recently subscribed to Martha Stewart Living (what has the world come to) and received my first issue yesterday!  It sure beats paying $5 in stores per issue.  Anyway, the March issue is all about gardening and things inspired from it.  When I came across this tree bookshelf from Korean design artist Shawn Soh, I fell hard.  How amazing would it be to have this in your home?  I'd feel completely inspired with every glance in its direction.

That would be such a cute element in a nursery.

I started subscribing to Martha last year. Way more economical! Enjoy!

Yikes! That bookshelf is amazing but SO pricey. I need to figure out how to recreate this for much, much cheaper.

Very cool but my thought is almost always the same with things like this - I think "I can make that for way less". I usually don't and by "I" I mean I could get my husband to :)

umm how cool is that tree- wow I could hire someone to make that for me for less than $2500

Yup, I caught that in MSL, as well. Pricey but cute. Worth trying to DIY. :)

I would love LOVE love to have this. It is so awesome. And it reminds me of The Giving Tree. Which makes me want to cry a little. ;)

i love how the other comments were in line with my thinking: it's time to call the woodworking friends! i have an artist brother who i may be able to convince to make me one of these... you're right. $2500 is a bit much!

I recently subscribed to the bag too. I love the latest issue. I'm sure it will make you want some good soil in the home you decide to buy so you can plan a garden and be self-sustaining!

if you have a handy man in your family you could probably make a similar looking shelf for yourself...

What a gorgeous bookcase! And I'm delighted that you're getting MS Living in the mail-in fact, I think I'm envious!
