Jack and Anjelica

Anjelica Huston and Jack Nicholson were on-and-off sweethearts for 13 years.   The pictures of them together are so beautiful - I particularly love the photo of them with him in his robe and her in her bikini, smoking.  It shows they were playful, romantic and loved to have a good time.  After reading about their relationship, I'm intrigued.  In the beginning of Huston's acting career, she starred alongside Nicholson for several films, was around for Roman Polanski's arrest (at Nicholson's home), and suffered the agony of being the lover of a boy, not a man, who was very famous.  Through the years, he was with many other women and even fathered a child with another woman a year before their relationship finally ended.  She noted that breaking up with Nicholson was harder than any death she's survived.

"...There is really no justice in love. You can't go into something emotional with a bargain in mind. You have to love unequivocally. You have to be direct in your emotions otherwise you can't expect anyone to deal directly with you."

So eloquently put!

Oh wow! Jack was young once! I Love him dearly though! I remember reading an article in Vanity Fair or Vogue that her younger sister wrote about spending time with them and it was fantastic! I think you would enjoy it! :)

How fun is this. I seriously had no idea they even dated! She looks sooo young in the 2nd to last picture. I'l bet despite the unhappy ending that it was fabulous while it lasted :)

How I love this post! Jack is, in my opinion, the best actor of our times, and Angelica has such a powerful film heritage. They were quite a match!

when i had a massive cork board filled w/ inspirational things, i had a picture tacked on of a huge b&w image of angelica smoking. that one of her in the bikini is great! i don't think i realized that were together for 13 years - that's a long time for such a playboy. i bet it'll be a great read.
