Kansas in Summer
I think I might be feeling a little homesick today, judging from my posts. But you see, it's just that I can't quite get enough of this quilt! I saw a tiny picture of it today on Etsy's Facebook page and instantly thought it looked like so many scenes across the great state of Kansas.
The quilt was made by Kansas City resident Kim Elchler-Messmer who has a slew of hand-dyed fabric quilts for sale in her Etsy shop, Kimem. Go check them out and buy this one above for me!

Where are you from in Kansas? My dad grew up in a tiny town in Central Kansas called Ellsworth, went to Kansas State, moved to Chicago, and raised us to love everything about Kansas. My grandmother still lives in sleepy Ellsworth. I hope your Tuesday is getting better with this beautiful weather!
A great piece of craftsmanship and art.

love the gradient colours here
This quilt is incredible, especially the colors. It's like looking at a field of corn on a clear blue day.
wow, isn't that beautiful?! it does remind me of the plains of Kansas. and I can see why you are a little homesick... Kansas is a beautiful state!
IT really does!
And I didn't know you were from Kansas:) Currently living in a small town in KS and I am from Atlanta....quite a difference! But it is beautiful here!
gorgeous tones. love the simplicity.
this is a happy quilt.
that is gorgeous!! i get homesick both for oklahoma and louisiana at different times for completely different reasons. for oklahoma it's friends, the simpler life, and days at the lake. for louisiana it's the food, the culture, my heritage.
i just love kansas and would totally get homesick for there too :)
this quilt looks so modern and home-made at the same time. it's just beautiful.
Wow, it's a textile dream come true!
