San Francisco

We're finally going to S.F. for more than a night, wooohooo!  4 days actually!  Therefore, we need a good hotel recommendation. 


So please, bring on the recommendations!

That's so exciting! When are you going? I have family in SF so I haven't had to stay in a hotel but I have some peeps in the tourism biz that I can ask.

We'll be there July 30 - August 3 and then we head up to Sonoma for our wedding :)

Here is the scoop from my friend regarding SF hotels.

Campton Place— right at Union Square, check out a few guest room options at the hotel as they have many room types and some are much better than others.

Hotel Vitale —boutique style property near the Embarcadero. (ask for a water view room as they are better...naturally).

Orchard Garden hotel— an environmental hotel with a fresh look in a good location. It's next to the gates of Chinatown.

Hotel Monaco and The Palomar— are both good and sometimes they have deals so check them out. Some folks think the hotel Palomar area is a tad sketch at night but it's fine and you can walk to many different places of interest from there too.

Fairmont— on Nob Hill is a bit removed from the main area of Union Square but it's Fairmont so it's kind of the Grand Dame.
